What is a blog?
A blog is a personal diary or
journal posted on the internet.
What is the purpose of a blog?
A blog allows bloggers to express
themselves in writing and share their views on topics that interest them with
other people. Some blogs are used for
business purpose to market certain products or ideas. Blogs can help you also connect with people
who have the same interest, experience, or views like yours. Blog let your readers talk to you through
their posting.
How can you use this in your
official capacity? (teacher, admin, central office, etc.)
As teachers, I can use my blog to
journal my experience as a teacher, whether it be my success or my failure.
That way I can look back/reflect at my practices and see where I can
improve. I can also use my blog to
affirm my teaching plans, ideas and my beliefs by putting them in writing. As I
put my thoughts in writing, I am able to make improvements or adjustment along
the way. My blog will also help me
connect with other teacher bloggers who can give me ideas to improve in my
craft. Lastly, having a blog will allow me to just being able to express myself
and share my thoughts.
Give at least two explicit examples of uses (not just
“reflection”)
As mentioned above, blogs can be used for business purposes such
as selling products or ideas. Blogs can
be used to share news whether it be personal news or political or just be a
venue for your passion in writing.
What are the benefits and drawbacks
of a blog?
One benefit of a blog is it allows
anybody to be a writer. It is easy to open a blog and it’s as easy to post and
comment/update a blog. One drawback of a
having a blog is it consumes a lot of time to maintain it especially if you are
trying to establish a certain standard and reputation as a blogger. You need to
come up with new ideas to share to your readers at all times and writing a good
post takes time. Needless to say, you
need to have a reliable internet connection to maintain a blog.
Cite at least 1 resource from our readings on blogs or an
outside source you found.

Thank you for your post, Jenina. It kind of reminds me of Poe's "Masque of the Red Death." Not, your content, but this is exactly how I imagine the last room in the story to look like...red with tinges of black. Inspired!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comments. I just need to put some colors in my life. I chose red because we want love, love , love in our life. (LOL)
DeleteI love the color of your blog...and Yes Jinky a reliable internet connection is what we need to maintain a blog...We should start a petition for our area for at least a phone line right ;)

ReplyDeleteI checked out your blog. Nice Job!
I love how you mentioned it could be our personal online diary or journal. I also like the examples and ways that you could use blogging for your profession. I could benefit from it the same way as you. Good ideas! I also like how you mentioned it being a personal venture or passion or a way to communicate with people. I agree.
ReplyDeleteIt is a great way to share personal experiences as well as a good reflection and how we can improve professionally.
ReplyDeleteI think it is a great way to have some sort of public journal where we can reflect on our ideas and daily events.
